Today, I am sharing a gorgeous vintage pink + aqua blue valentine’s day inspiration for you to delight in! I was inspired by pink hearts, arrows and Carly Rae Jepsen‘s song “Call me Maybe” which I’m not surprised to hear, it’s been nominated for two Grammy Awards as “Song of the year” and “Best Pop Solo Performance” at the 55th Annual Ceremony tonight.

I believe this cute and catchy phrase makes for a fantastic theme. And gives the perfect spin to this popular holiday of love and friendship. I also think this stunning color scheme is ideal for any time of the year and for anyone celebrating a Love + Hearts inspired bridal shower, gender reveal party or baby shower.  Hey if you need help pulling this theme together contact me, maybe?!!

Snow White is one of the most famous fairy tale love stories which I think makes for a unique winter wonderland wedding and/or the most adorable baby/bridal shower theme. I can’t wait to work on such a theme for one of your events! Enjoy!

The color Red is a classic for holiday decor so I was inspired by its warm and simple feel. I also drew inspiration for this Red + White Christmas from the custom holiday invitation design my friend Wendy from Green Beansie Ink did for my current client. I loved, my client loved and his guests LOVED the invitations design so I couldn’t resist being inspired to use it all around my house. At the same time,  I challenged myself and focused on being creative by repurposing things I already own and  keep myself from breaking the budget on seasonal home decor!

The Glittery Red Tree: I decided to go for a warm and monochromatic color scheme of Red. Therefore, all the ornaments where shiny red or glittery red. I also used red feathers, butterflies and ribbon in it.  Since I had a lot of butterflies from a previous party, I chose to use a large glittery red butterfly instead of an angel, star or santa. For its backdrop, I used white glittery Snowflakes ornaments in different sizes.

Centerpieces: These beauties were so easy and fun to make. I used two 4″ and one 6″ glass hurricane candle holders glued to taper candle holders to add height and visual interest. The three centerpieces were filled with decorative sand, an assortment of glass glittery ornaments and feathers. Lighting is always important so to complete the look and add ambience, I added 5 white votive candles around it.

Tablescape: To achieve a tablescape design that was modern, clean and festive, I used white as the basic color and accented it with red details. The white dinnerware were topped with red napkins, a cute and sweet Chocolate Covered Oreo by Sprinkle Parade and sat neatly on decorative paperstock which happens to look great as placemats. The flatware were nicely held together with a snowflake ornament and the champagne flutes were adorned with a red glass ornament tied around with a red ribbon. The white curtains served as a great backdrop which I beautified with a red garland which I accessorized with a large felt red wall decor in the middle and a cluster of 5 red glass ornaments at each corner.

Now that Adrian’s favorite Character is Mickey Mouse, his mother thought it would be a great idea to go with this bright and playful theme for his birthday celebration. So I went on to create The dessert table that was Clubhouse inspired and to kept it cool and modern I decided to use the very popular chevron pattern in black/white and paired it with a color scheme of bright red, yellow and black color scheme.

The table was dressed in a red linen with a black/white chevron runner in the middle and a banner of Mickey silhouettes and yellow stars hanging in the front. The backdrop consisted of “clouds”,  a big “tree” green balloons arrangement and a giant Mickey silhouette centerpiece that perfectly captured the “outdoors” look we were going for. On display we had an assortment of candies in party’s colors; the adorable candy tubes by Khaliah Gibson of The Confetti Armory (which all the kids and adults loved!) and the super cute and delicious cake pops by my friend Reyna Nunez of Lady Stallion Treats and the fantastic cake by Laury Hernandez of There Should Always Be Cake. The banner and paper details on the table were all designed and by Sarah De Jesus.

I’m thrilled to finally have internet connection because it allows me to continue to connect and share with you both the things that make me happy and sad. However, I would like to focus on the HAPPY things especially the things that bring a smile to my clients and potential ones faces! Therefore, I am very excited to share this well over due party post from a recent Grammy-Hollywood Star Inspired Baby Shower we worked on. I hope these party photos inspire you and most certainly spark some JOY into your life!

Back in June, I had the pleasure of working with Kay who had contacted us to create this dessert table for her niece’s first birthday party. After her Kayla’s party set up, I also had the pleasure of being booked on the spot to design and style Kay’s baby shower! The original theme was Rock Star which after some talk and brainstorming became this Elegant and Modern Turquoise, Black and White Chevron with touches of gold and very anticipated Grammy-Hollywood Star Inspired Baby Shower to celebrate her Baby Boy To Be with her hubby, family and friends.
I loved working with Kay! She is amazing to work for! I really enjoyed the freedom of being involved in the creation of every single detail from selecting the vendors, invitation design, cake design (I don’t make cakes! lol) and sweets design and selection. One of my favorite things is working on the details so as I always do, I worked closely with the selected vendors to ensure they understood the vision for Kay’s special celebration. We worked well together in bringing about a look that was clean, fun and most importantly cohesive! Enjoy!!!

As I previously mentioned, the Operation Shower organization invited 7 designers and I to create a book inspired design for the tables where the military moms-to-be would be seated at this event. However, about two weeks prior to the event, I came across the opportunity to do a second table design which I was pretty excited to take on.

Below you will find photos my second table design. For this one, I chose to go with a blue and orange color palette which was inspired by my fabric picks from Carousel Designs. As you may already know from the previous posts, the design guidelines were to incorporate the given choices of fabrics, the super adorable printables from Paper & Cake , the cute packaging products from Garnish and of course our creativity to bring about a table design that would be perfect for this book theme baby shower.

Centerpieces: My book inspired centerpiece consisted of floral, a book that I chose to call “Bedtime Stories”, an old wooden clock and the blue little elephant which was consistently used throughout the table. I wanted this table to have a modern, warm and masculine style with a touch of a vintage look which I feel I was able to accomplish with my choice of colors, printable paper designs and vases. For this table, The flowers were arranged in versatile mason jars (which I happen to love) and were grouped around the stacks of books. The books were all covered in blue, white and brown paper wrap jackets and embellished with the little elephant, paper print designs and twine. I believe this table would also be perfect for a kid’s birthday party and/or a books lover!
Place Setting: The settings looked even prettier in person. These consisted of woven round turquoise blue placemats, white plates on which we placed orange napkins in a bowtie fold (still in love with how cute these looked!) that were held together by a napkin ring. Each guest sitting at this table received “Onesie” Mini Sugar Cookies favor donated by Sprinkle Parade which were nicely packaged in the cute geometric paperboard dishes provided by Garnish.

Chairs: All of the white folding chairs were adorned a 5” strip of the orange fabric which were tied in the middle with two strings of twine. I also created a small banner using the “bookmarks” and elephant printable flags and placed them right in front of it.

The Actress Melissa Joan Hart who is also expecting was the special guest and Emcee at this event.

And what’s a baby shower without a sweets dessert table? This wonderful table was created by Tanya from Save The Date for Cupcakes which showcases an astonishing cake design and super cute custom desserts from the following vendors:

And finally I can’t tell you how grateful I am to have been apart of this event and to have been able to witness all of the happy faces in one room as well as working with such a fantastic group of talented professionals. I feel truly blessed that I was able to put in the time and the use of my creative skills to give back to such an incredible event.

I worked closely with AJ’s mom Laura who hired me to create a fun sweets table for her son and his friends. I loved how enthusiastic she was bout planning a birthday party her son would truly love and enjoy. To accomplish this, she invited 40 family and AJ’s friends and rented two 1940s train carts at Black River & Western RR in Ringoes NJ which made for a pretty unique space for AJ’s birthday celebration. AJ and his guests enjoyed an hour of a fun and bumpy train ride from Ringoes to Flemington NJ and back. Then they spent a few hours in the stationary carts celebrating with delicious caterer foods from Famous Dave’s, face painting and balloon art entertainment and of course with some delicious sweets and yummy birthday cake!

For this party, I created a sweets table that was all things Thomas The Train and trains in general. The sweets table was dress in a red linen and a red and blue polka dots birthday pendant banner in the front. The window outdoors view served as part of the backdrop for this table as well as a big ” red whistle” on a blue denim fabric. The desserts which all worked so well with the theme and consisted of sweets from Sprinkle Parade, All Kinds of Whoopie, Sweet Temptations were displayed in “luggages” and “train tracks”. And the Thomas The Train Cake by Kake Queen was of course the main attraction.

Thank you again Laura and Julio for allowing me to be part of your son’s special day. I really enjoyed working on this table and seeing all of AJ’s guests have a good time in this unique site!

As I had mentioned briefly in this post, I had been invited to style and execute one of the tables in which guests would be seated at this event. The design guidelines were simple. All of the designers and I were asked to incorporate the following into our tables design:

• the printable graphic designs from Paper & Cake
• the beautiful fabrics from Carousel Designs
• the super cute products from Garnish

and most importantly implement our creativity to bring about a fun book inspired table design for the deserving moms attending this event.

So without further ado here are pictures from my Aqua Blue + Lime Green Book Inspired Table Design:

CENTERPIECES:
For this table, I created a Tree centerpiece that carried a special message. As we all know, reading is important. Especially reading to children because not only it helps them learn but it also spark their imagination and allows dream. Therefore, I feel that our imagination and dreams connect us to one another. The idea for this table was to try to translate this message with the use of the tree, stacks of books, mini green lamps and the words “READ” and “BOOKS”. The books were all covered in beautiful lime green, aqua blue and white paper wrap jackets which were embellished with the same printable designs and titled some “ABC” and “1,2,3″. The table was completed with 2 small White centerpieces around it. The style for this table was modern, chic and playful.

PLACESETTING:
To make it fun and playful I used the Snow White Story books as placemats. The open books displayed an image of a big green tree found in the story. The “placemats” were topped with white plates, the utensils and Aqua Blue Napkins which displayed a bookmark on top. Also on top of the placemats, I placed the clear acetate boxes from Garnish which held delicious Oreo Truffles from Sprinkle Parade.

CHAIRS: The white folding chairs were accented with a Aqua Blue Zig Zag Print which were detailed with same Green or Blue fabric used for the table runners. These were placed to left-side and tight with a thin white ribbon.

I absolutely loved working on my table. I loved the theme, color scheme, the fun elements used and not only that but that deserving moms who had the opportunity to attend, got to sit there while being showered at this event. I also loved the fact that this pretty design can easily be modified to translate into a book inspired birthday party or bridal shower!

It surely is an honor for me to take part in such an extraordinary event, while being surrounded and touched by the 40 military moms-to be who will be celebrated at this event. Another exciting fact is that Actress Melissa Joan Hart of Melissa & Joe will serve as the event’s Special Guest Host. I grew up watching her starring in her internationally syndicated show, Sabrina, The Teenage Witch so it will be fun to see her there as well.

This book themed “Once Upon a Shower” event brought by Operation Shower in Partnership with Birdies for the Brave will be held in a few weeks as part of The Barclays’ first event of the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup Playoffs at Bethpage State Park: Black Course in Farmingdale, NY.
