{Real Parties}:: Pink + Zebra Minnie Mouse Inspired 1st Birthday Party

I am happy to be sharing yet another PINK party. However this time, it’s a PINK + ZEBRA PRINT-Minnie Mouse Inspired Party! The inspiration came straight from Kayla’s love for the Disney Character, Minnie Mouse and her aunt’s love for everything Pink + Zebra Print which I must say, made for an exciting and cool 1st birthday party! The Below pictures are for the dessert table and wall décor which I designed to bring about her vision for this special celebration.

I designed two Black Minnie Mouse Silhouette Centerpieces which were placed on each side of the table. These centerpieces were made out of black yarn which I twisted around wood hoops and embellished with a big hot pink ribbon bow in the middle. They stood in a white vase with black shredded paper and two Minnie Mouse printables on sticks that read “Kayla” and “1″. I absolutely loved working on them!

My vision for the dessert table was to make it bright, modern and clean enough so every single detail found on the desserts, the cake and printables would stand out. And so I choose to dress the table in black linen and adorned it with the hot pink banner that read “Happy Birthday” in the front. Most of the sweets by Arlene of Sprinkle Parade which she created around the character’s silhouette which included vanilla and chocolate cupcakes with Minnie and Mickey Silhouette toppers, mini red velvet cupcakes, mini sugar cookies, custom Minnie mouse cookies, cake pops, rice krispie pops. We also had Pink Polka Dots and Zebra Print Chocolate Covered Oreos by Sweet Temptations and an assortment of different candies for the guests to enjoy.

The birthday cake, oh THAT Four layer cake was just amazing! I don’t make cakes but I took at chance at doing a sketch of what I had envisioned for this table. I loved working with Laury from There Should Always Be Cake who as you can see understand the vision and did an amazing job at bringing it to life. The cake certainly stood out and every detail was just on point!

For the walls, I made two large Minnie Mouse silhouettes heads which I made using 3 hula hoops (1 large and 2 small) covered all around with black tape and joint together to create this super easy wall piece. I also made 3 small Minnie mouse silhouettes heads out of black felt which were sewn together and embellished with a pink ribbon bow in the middle. Both projects were so fun to make and added a festive touch of “Minnie” to the walls.

The kids received some cute zebra print goodies bags (didn’t get to take pictures of them) but they were pretty cute and filled with lots of goodies for the kids. They were also entertained by Ding-A-Ling with music, face painting, clown and the Mickey and Minnie characters made a surprise appearance towards the end of the party which the kids really enjoyed!

Such an adorable party! How well you styled the use of the zebra print! Never too much, that it would overpower the Minnie Mouse theme. :-)
