What girl doesn’t love pink? How about pink and yellow? Or better yet Pink and Yellow Butterflies for a their sweet daughter’s first birthday party?! I certainly know one who does!
I was recently asked by a dear friend whom I’ve known for almost 25 years to help her plan and design her daughter Ileska’s first birthday party. She expressed to me that she had loved the colors used in this party shoot I had done the previous year so we decided to keep the same Pink + Yellow color palette and added the use of butterflies to make it cute and girly. She invited around 60 of her closest family and friends with their children to help her celebrate Ileska’s special day.
For the dessert table, we decided to set it up against a white wall and used 3 big yellow butterflies to adorn it. I designed a “happy birthday” banner which sat in front of the table. I also handcrafted and arranged the birthday girl’s name into a vase with a single pink paper flower, two butterflies and green moss. The desserts were kept simple and consisted of some delicious vanilla cake pops, chocolate cupcakes, sugar cookies with marshmallow filling, lollipops and some delicious Dominican cake.
As an addition to the desserts, I recommended she tried Sweets by Arlene cake pops and she immediately felt in love with the butterfly cake pops with went perfectly with the theme and were a hit with the kid. The goodies bags were pink for girls and yellow for boys. These held assorted toys and looked super cute with a single butterfly embellishment.
We filled up her living room and dinner room with upside down light pink and white balloons and used two arranged single pink paper flowers and butterflies to adorned the appetizers table.
As you can see sweet Ileska was always camera ready and looked so cute in her white and pink party dress!
